Highly skilled in DB2 z/OS application and system database administration.Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain DB2 z/OS and IBM DB2 z/OS Tools (IBM Tools Customizer, IBM DB2 Administration Tool, IBM Object Compare Tool, IBM Log Analysis Tool, IBM Automation Tool, IBM HP Unload, IBM SQL PA and IBM Query Monitor).Strong knowledge of Omegamon Tools.Ability to create, maintain database objects.Ability to design, implement, maintain, tune and support databases.Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot common SQL CODES and error messages.Familiarity with data modeling and design and related tool (like PowerDesigner).Ability to create backup and recovery procedures.Experience in implementing DB2 z/OS Compression and Partitioning.Strong knowledge of SQL.Strong knowledge of DB2 utilities and commands.Has worked with IBM Support and IBM SR tool.Knowledge of other mainframes infrastructure technologies - e.g., zOS, RACF, CICS, SMS, storage subsystem and networking.Ability to support Replication between DB2 z/OS and other DBMSs (Sybase and CDC Replication)Strong knowledge of writing and troubleshooting complex scripts (JCL, REXX and CLIST) for database maintenance automation and testing.Provide Database deployment support for Test and Production environments.Diagnose and address database performance issues using performance monitors and various tuning technique.Able to write database maintenance and automation script.Maintain standard procedural documentation related to all aspects of operating the database platforms. Ability to design, implement and maintain Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and provide support for BCP exercises and actual disaster recoveryParticipate in security audits by assisting investigations, evaluating evidence, developing responses and action plans, and making appropriate modifications to technology, processes, and documentation.Strong ability to interact with development groups, gather requirements and manage all phases of database implementation.Mentoring and training of other database administrators, managing task assignments, review workload and providing input to the management team.Competency in ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge and Change ManagementManaging P1/P2 Bridge Calls. Participate in incident resolution as an escalation point for database incidents.Awareness of Service Management target metrics.Document known errors or workarounds in the shared Knowledge Base.Service improvement and knowledge management.Knowledge on Ticketing tools like HPSM.IBM DB2 z/OS DBA Certified candidate is preferred.Ready to work in US business hours.Awareness of Agile and SAFe delivery model.
