We are looking for our office in Mexico City:
Project Manager (Construction Projects, EPC)
The mission of the job is to manage the execution of civil, electrical and mechanical works associated with the construction and commissioning of specified Wind Farm Projects (EPC or Supply and Installation) within the constraints of time, cost and quality and safety against contractual obligations. Key areas of focus include Project Management (planning, tracking and reporting), contracts management and implementation, resource planning and management, site liaison and direction, client relationship development and management, contractor / sub -contractor management, and active risk management.
She/he will be also involved in tendering processes related to subcontractors pricing, technical analysis, and sales support.
Reporting to the Construction Director for Mexico and Caribbean, the profile is expected to fulfill:
Coordinate and supervise fulfillment of safety and environment procedures related to projects, from awareness to auditing process in order to guarantee service level agreements and compliance with regulations and company standards.Secure customer relationship, leading to increased customer satisfaction.Represent the organization towards Customers and Subcontractors project management in projects related correspondence, meetings, negotiationsEnsure the key objectives for each project including profitability, cash flow and time.Develop and monitor projects time plans as well as establish action and recovery plans to ensure compliance with internal targets and customer/ contract expectationsGuarantee the right reporting and forecasting of time progress and financial performance of each project with transparency, reliability and accuracy.Strive for improving on-time and even early completion of the projects to maximize Customer satisfaction and financials.Perform Risk and Opportunities management within the projects, including strategies, action plans and follow-up.Ensure the establishment of the project execution vision & strategy, based on the contract, in order to achieve the project performance goals.Make sure that a contract management plan is defined and implemented on project level, as well as a project quality plan, guaranteeing that both customer and Vestas obligations are fulfilled.Ensure that projects communication is adequately handled internally and externally.Implement Vestas project management and site installation processes and proceduresSeek for continuous improvement by proposing relevant methods and toolsLead and coach the project and site installation team, defining project goals and objectives, evaluating individual performance, motivating and optimizing the team workloadParticipate actively in developing the procurement strategy of projects, selection and assessment of suppliers and ensure sub contracts' compliance with projects requirements and contract/ customer expectationsProvide support in the tendering phase by delivering support to the Bid Management (input to pre-calculations, scope & risk assessments, sites organization, negotiations, etc.)Qualifications:
She/he will have at least 7 years of experience in project management and construction, preferably acquired in the wind industry or in the energy sector.Preferably owner of an Engineering degree. (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or similar) Master in Project Management and/or MBA will be also welcomed.Experience in installation and EPC contracts, preferably export and international.Financial and contract management skills.Team & people management.Strong proficiency in spoken and written English (this is a must). Other languages would be an additional advantage. Competencies:
