Welding Supervisor Primary Responsibilities? Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed.? Inspect subordinates? work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.? Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.? Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.? Be motivated and work productively.? Have a good understanding of Kiewit?s welding quality requirements and expectations.? Train and promote new welding technology such as orbital and GMAW welding where assigned. ? Provide training for GMAW and orbital welders and operators. Provide input to supervisor to schedule equipment and personnel for assigned projects.? Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing) with supervisor and project personnel.? Work with welding supervisors on the projects to task plan efficient, and productive welding activities. Qualifications? Must have an associate degree in engineering technology or science plus three years welding experience: or a high school graduate or equivalent (GED) plus five years welding experience. ? Must have journeyman level skill with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding process and an depth knowledge of the equipment, procedures and consumable used for these processes. ? Must have a thorough understanding of the quality requirements for each welding processes. ? Must be certified per ASME Section IX all position with the SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW process.
